Mental Health Impacted By Heat

We've written a lot about how heat impacts the body physically, but it also has a negative impact on your mental wellbeing. In fact, hot weather is associated with increases in aggression, violence and depression. It causes trouble sleeping, dehydration and restrictions on our daily activities. I know there are plenty of times when I'd like to go for a run or do something outside in the summer, but end up staying in because it's simply too hot outside.

I even found one article that says "Extremely hot weather has a bigger effect on life satisfaction than getting a divorce" (https://qz.com/1311765/extremely-hot-weather-has-a-bigger-effect-on-life-satisfaction-than-getting-a-divorce/) Heat is also known to make us less productive and do worse on tests, which can lead to more depression and anxiety.

So, what can we do about it? Weather is getting hotter everywhere and that doesn't seem to be changing. But there is one thing that's changing: Our technology and science.

In the past, people had to rely on running their wrists under cold running water. Or holding ice cubes onto their neck or wrists. Luckily, those ideas are about as outdated as the fax the machine. Now we have wearable technology that is simple and easy to use, and very effective. In these blogs, I've written about many of them. My recommendation still comes down to either the Cooling Cuff or the Embr Wave. You can read the detailed comparison here (https://www.coolingcuff.com/post/embre-wave-vs-cooling-cuff).

The Cooling Cuff is instant relief from the heat and immediately feels invigorating. Give a chance. Comment below if you have other suggestions.
